I think this is very inaccurate because many young teens will take art classes and theatre classes, and end up pursuing something along those lines. I think if they were to cut the payment for these elective classes, than it would cause many unhappy students and would not be beneficial. Many students will want a career in art and music, and when the school provides for those classes for the students, it makes it a whole lot easier for them to pursue that dream. If the school could no longer pay for these (surprised it hasn't happened here yet) than students and parents would have to go miles to find a place where their children can use their skills for them to pursue.
