1st Semester Reflection

1. Quality of work

When we first started completing projects, I would make sure i spent time to make sure the image in my head was being portrayed in my pieces. I could say that 9 out of 10 times, my work came out how i wanted it to. Other times i would spend too much time on something that wasn't going to work how i wanted. I completed all my work within the deadlines and spent time and put quality in my work for the viewer to see. I also followed all the assignments rules and went from there to make the image.

2. Effort

I believe i go for a more convenient solution since i am very new to photoshop, and i don't really know all about photoshop. I plan for my projects for a day. I like to brainstorm and see what comes to my mind or discover my options. I have discovered variations of my ideas, but often i stay pretty plain or regular. Sometimes I will find something new i can do with my ideas, but often stick with my plan. I think if theres ever something i see as difficult, someone first was able to complete it so theres always a chance that i can do that as well. i will put in the effort to see what i can do to complete the project. I think I'm positive at looking at other students work. I know some are almost experts and make really creative images, and often i see work the same level as my own, and then i don't feel like the odd one out, because everyone learns at a different pace, and some have much more experience. I also believe I'm positive toward my own designs. I choose what appeals to me, and also something do-able.

3. Participation

I am always on time to class. I think i participate in working throughout this block. I often work independently unless Klein assigns some project where we have to work with another student, or do the project where we had the describing traits for the other student. But i always plan to work independently. I stay on task in this class and productively. I often through the thoughts of my other classes out of my head, so i can work calmly, and continue to be productive.

4. Improvement

I am very new too digital art, but now i would say i have some experience, and i often create my own style, but i try not to copy, i just use other works for ideas that help me create my image. I do believe that i need to improve technically, since i stay with the basics. I need to learn far from the basics and get into more difficult things, where i am challenged, but there is still the image i can make. I no longer want to ask someone how to do/complete something, i want to figure it out on my own because it will only help me. I want to be more confident with what i can make, create and solve my own questions with photoshop. Also i should make stronger messages in my work, because the basic image is never chosen, its the ones with deeper messages and underlying messages. I think i should learn more about what i can do with photoshop, and challenge myself.

5. Adjustment

In this upcoming semester, I will become more known to the works of photoshop (the more advanced side) and challenge myself to create images i never think i could make. I will also continue to turn my work in on time, since i am often friends with the deadlines, since this class is flexible (if a couple people aren't done, we have more time). I will also put more effort into the work i am creating, and make sure i advanced myself and do not just trow something together in one or two days. I want to spend lots of time and effort into the projects more often, and be satisfied with my work and be happy with what i create.
